Career coaching from someone still in the hiring room.
Not theory from a textbook. Not advice from someone who left recruitment a decade ago. Real market intelligence, updated every week. Erika works with hiring managers and candidates every single week — she sees what’s changing in real time and knows which strategies are landing interviews right now.
Who Career Coaching Is For
Career coaching with Erika is for people at a genuine career crossroads. You are probably one of these:
Thinking seriously about a move but not sure where to start
Applying for roles and not getting traction
Getting to interviews but not converting
Wanting to move into a new industry or level and unsure how to position yourself
Recently back in the workforce after a break
Trying to get an honest picture of what your options actually are
What We Cover
Sessions are shaped by what you need. Depending on where you are, coaching can cover:
Career direction — working out where you want to go and what is realistic
Resume and LinkedIn — rewriting and repositioning, in partnership with you
Interview preparation — how to answer the hard questions, manage nerves, and read the room
Salary and negotiation — what is market, how to have the conversation, when to push
Job search strategy — where to look, how to use your network, and what is actually working right now
Career transition — moving industries, moving up, or returning after a break
Managing a current role — sometimes the question is not about finding a new job, it is about handling the one you are in
What to Expect
Expect honest conversations — not just about the market and where you fit within it, but about your own expectations too. If your salary expectations are out of step with the market, Erika will tell you. If the role you have in mind is a stretch that needs a plan, she will say so. This is not a gentle pep talk.
That same honesty applies to your resume and how you are presenting yourself. Erika will tell you what is working, what is not, and what you need to change. There is no value in her writing it for you — you need to own it — but she works on it with you in partnership so the end result sounds like you, positions you accurately, and does the job it is supposed to do.
What this looks like in practice:
A clear-eyed read of where you sit in the current market
Honest feedback on your resume, LinkedIn profile, and how you present yourself
Practical preparation for interviews — including the hard questions
A realistic plan for the move you are trying to make
How It Works
Coaching is one-on-one and structured around what you actually need, not a fixed curriculum.
Initial conversation — A no-obligation call to understand where you are and whether coaching is the right fit.
Session one — Getting a clear picture of your situation: your background, your goals, and the gaps between them.
Ongoing sessions — Working through the specific areas you need to address, at a pace that suits you.
Between sessions — You will have actions to work on. Erika is available by email for quick questions in between.
Most clients work with Erika for between three and six sessions, though this varies depending on what you are working through. Sessions are conducted via video call or, for Melbourne-based clients, in person.
Erika is a recruiter, not a career counsellor. She has spent years on the other side of the hiring process — briefing roles, screening candidates, presenting shortlists, and advising businesses on who to hire and why. That perspective changes the quality of the advice.
She knows what hiring managers actually look for. She knows how resumes get read (and dismissed). She knows what puts candidates on a shortlist and what takes them off it. When she gives you feedback, it comes from direct experience of what works — not from a coaching framework.
This is also not a service where you pay for encouragement. If something is not working, she will tell you. If your expectations need recalibrating, she will say so — respectfully, but directly. The goal is for you to be genuinely better positioned by the end of your time working together, not just more confident about the same approach.
