Inside the Hiring Room and Job Market Mastery™: how they fit

The questions I get asked most

"Job Market Mastery is probably too detailed for our cohort."

"Can we take parts of it?"

"Can we just do a Q&A?"

"How do we get parents involved with our secondary students?"

"Can we take JMM topics and run them as a series of workshops for our graduates?"

I hear some version of these every week from careers managers, program leads and principals. The answer to every one of them is yes, and it's exactly why Inside the Hiring Room exists. Here's how they fit, where they differ, and where I'd start.

The simplest way to think about it: Inside the Hiring Room is a workshop series delivered by me. Job Market Mastery™ is a complete employability and workplace integration program delivered by your own team.

Job Market Mastery™: the handbook for professional success

I built Job Market Mastery™ first. It's an end-to-end employability course: 19 modules you license, covering the entire job search process, then continuing into the realities of work once the role is secured: management types and styles, workplace conflict, managing up, and building a career that lasts. It's the handbook for professional success.

Your own staff deliver it, or you load the modules onto your learning portal, and it runs with every cohort, every year. Every module ends with an assessment, handbooks and facilitator guides come with it, and facilitator certification is included.

It isn't the right fit for every institution. Some don't have the staff to deliver it, some cohorts aren't ready for that depth, and some want to see it work before they commit to a licence.

Inside the Hiring Room: the easier way in

I created Inside the Hiring Room to sit alongside JMM, as an easier entry point: employability workshops for secondary students, graduates, job seekers and program participants. It works equally well for secondary schools, TAFEs, universities, graduate programs and employment services. What it won't do is cover everything JMM covers.

I deliver it myself, from 90-minute sessions to four-day programs, for groups of 5 to 50, either face to face or on Teams. You choose the shape:

  • Topics from JMM, one session or a series, so your group works through the parts they need most

  • Bespoke, built around one cohort and the questions they're actually asking

  • Open Q&A, where questions come in beforehand so every one gets answered

  • Parents' night, a separate offering for secondary schools, so families understand how hiring works now

There's no licence and no long-term commitment.

How they fit together

They aren't competing options. One is the way in, the other is what you build on.

  1. Start with Inside the Hiring Room. A session with one group shows you how your people respond, what they ask and where the gaps really are.

  2. License Job Market Mastery™. Take what worked and build it into your program, delivered by your own team.

  3. Run it every year. Every new cohort gets the whole process, not just the part that ends at the offer.

Because I built both, the voice and the evidence are the same. Nothing your people hear in a workshop gets contradicted when your team takes over. If you begin with Inside the Hiring Room and license Job Market Mastery™ within 90 days, part of your workshop investment is credited toward the licence. You test the approach with your own people before committing to a larger rollout.

Where I'd start

  • You haven't worked with me before: book Inside the Hiring Room. One session tells you more than any proposal.

  • You think JMM is too detailed for your cohort: take the topics that matter most as Inside the Hiring Room sessions, one at a time or as a series.

  • You're a secondary school: a session with Years 10 to 12, plus a parents' night as a separate session so the conversation carries on at home.

  • You have a specific group with a specific problem (international students, a final-year cohort, participants who keep losing jobs in the first few months): a bespoke session built around them.

  • You want employability running through your whole program, every year: Job Market Mastery™, delivered by your team and certified by me.

  • You're planning 2027 now: start with a workshop in Term 1 or Semester 1, then decide on JMM with your own results in hand.

Sessions booked before 4 December 2026 receive a 20% early booking discount. Book a time to meet with me and we'll work out the best starting point for your students, graduates or participants, whether that's a single workshop or a complete employability program.
